On Sunday 21st May, Northern Chords Festival will present a concert at Newcastle Cathedral in celebration of the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. Northern Chords are thrilled that the world famous London Mozart Players will be at the festival for the first time, and will be joined by award winning choir Voices of Hope. Under the baton of Jonathan Bloxham, the concert will start with a performance of Zadok the Priest and they’d like to invite you to sing with them to build a beautiful chorus of local singers to open this very special concert.
There will be a rehearsal on the day at Newcastle Cathedral, from 1.30 - 2.15pm, and then the performance is at 6pm. After the performance of Zadok the Priest singers are then invited to join the audience to enjoy the rest of the concert - which includes Mozart’s Piano Concerto in D minor with 2014 BBC Young Musician of the Year Winner Martin James Bartlett followed by Mozart’s Coronation Mass. The concert finishes at 7.10pm.
